Young Thug and T.I. have reunited just days after the liberated rapper was released from jail.
On Tuesday, November 5, Tip posted a video of himself, his son Domani and Thugger in what appears to be a studio. The two Atlanta phenoms were all smiles as they teased King Jeffrey's return. "I'm back jack, ya digg?" Thug said into the camera. In the caption, the King rapper confirmed Young Thug inspired him to come out of retirement for one night only.
"The Kings have Reconvened #KingJeffrey #KingSr," he wrote. "Guess I’m officially outta retirement 🤷🏽♂️ For tonight 😂 #welcomehome"
T.I. has been a loyal supporter of Young Thug over the past decade. They first connected on the Grand Hustle CEO's 2014 track "About The Money" off his Paperwork album. Since then, Tip has remained in Thugger's corner even after the 33-year-old was arrested in May 2022. Despite all the charges he faced and the stories that came out during the lengthy trial, T.I. never switched up. He even predicted a positive outcome for Young Thug during an interview with The Breakfast Club.
“I don’t think that the prosecution has successfully proven the case of him knowingly and willingly participating in an active street gang," he said in May. "I just don’t see it. I don’t think that the witnesses that they’ve called thus far have proven what they’ve said that they would prove. I just don’t think that the grounds of that case have been presented properly. I just ain’t seen it."
Young Thug was sentenced to 15 years of probation after he accepted a plea deal. He's required to stay out of metro Atlanta and refrain from promoting gang life. He also has to host anti-gang programs and complete 100 hours of community service every year of his sentence. Numerous artists celebrated his release including Lil Baby, who alluded to an upcoming collaboration between them.
