On Thursday (September 24), it was announced that the Houston rapper, 29, teamed up with IMAX for the debut of the self-directed clip, which premiered at selected theaters in conjunction with Christopher Nolan's film, Tenet, before hitting YouTube. In the clip, viewers follow Scott around Michael Jordan's Chicago mansion and it's a tour that we can only dream of with a flock of women, Nike sneakers and — wait for it — sheep. It's just intense from all angles.
As per IMAX, the lavish video for the track featuring Young Thug and MIA, which serves as the theme song for Tenet and pays tribute to Dem Franchize Boyz, is set to unfold with "powerful precision sound and the highest quality crystal-clear imagery" for their big screens. "Only IMAX’s unique theatre geometry will immerse audiences into Travis Scott’s vision with an audio-visual experience unlike any other," a statement read. "Yup, in my white tee, yeah/ Call up Hype Williams for the hype, please, It’s lit/ Uh, they gonna wipe you before you wipe me/ Unboxing my checks, not my Nikes, yeah," Cactus Jack spits on the hook, alongside Young Thug. The two have previously collaborated on a number of releases, including "Skyfall," "Mamacita," "OUT WEST," "Nothing But Net" and more.
Meanwhile, Nolan shared a handwritten letter to the new McDonalds spokesperson about the world premiere of "Franchise" prior to the screening of the film. "Travis-- Love the video (shot on film, no less!). I can't wait to hear it on the IMAX speakers, and see those sheep stampede across the giant screen as part of a Travis/Tenet/Travis sandwich!" he wrote.
