Yung Joc Speaks Out After Being Shamed For Driving For A Rideshare App

Yung Joc is proud of his new gig.

After being shamed by a "fan" for driving for a new rideshare company, the "It's Goin' Down" rapper spoke to TMZ about what he called his new side-hustle, explaining that he chose to start driving on the side not because he fell on hard times, but because he wanted to inspire the youth.

"I'm a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters and a lot of times when we're talking to these kids, you have to lead by example," he shared. "Sometimes, you have to show people you're not too big... to do the right thing by making an honest living. I think that's why our kids and even adults go astray because they're too ashamed or too prideful."

Joc added that becoming a rideshare driver was "kind of like a bucket list thing" and a way to challenge himself. "For anybody that wants to do this, I think it's a dope idea. I'm doing it right now," he said as he showed a passenger in the backseat of his car.

As fans know, over the weekend, a video of Joc driving for a rideshare app went viral after one of his passengers secretly filmed him. While the intent behind the video was to job-shame Joc — one of the passengers accused him of falling off — the result was quite the opposite.

"The most phenomenal part about this whole experience of this going viral is the amount of support [I've gotten]," the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star told TMZ. "I just knew they were gonna roast [me]. But a lot of celebrities have reached out. People have hit my phone. Snoop [Dogg] said, 'Hustlers hustle.' I just realized that people are maybe beginning to be a little more mature."

And just in case you wondering about Joc's main streams of income: he's a radio personality in Atlanta, appears on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta and he just opened a new club. Now that's hustling!
