The No. 8 seeded Fl Panthers beat the Carolina Hurricanes last night (Wednesday) 4-3. This is the second Stanley Cup Final in franchise history in 27 years. Florida fans almost blew the roof off the arena in celebration mode.
The Panthers have pulled off hockey magic from the "gods" with upsetting the Eastern Conference. Blowing through teams back to back, the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Wednesday the Hurricanes.
"This was pure joy," Coach Paul Maurice said after the game.
Tkachuk said, "We earned that thing, and definitely didn't do it the easy way. We earned it," With only 4.9 seconds left in the game he scored the winning goal.
The FL Panthers want know who their battling next until the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars settle who's the winner in their Western Conference finals. The series is 3-0 with the Golden Knights with the lead. The Cup Finals is expected to start on Saturday, June 3; all is pending on the outcome of the Western Conference finals.
