Ja Rule is looking back at the impact his beef with 50 Cent had on the rap industry.

The "New York" rapper sat down with Carmelo Anthony and guest host Kazeem Famuyide for the latest episode of the NBA Hall of Famer's podcast 7PM In Brooklyn. During their discussion, Ja Rule argues he's the better rapper between himself and the G-Unit founder, but acknowledged that fans should respect both. Despite being involved in one of rap's longest beefs, Ja also argues why glorified feuds among today's biggest rap stars aren't good for hip-hop culture.

"I don't think hip-hop beefs are good for the culture," Ja explains.

"Big and 'Pac both got killed. Me and 50's s**t was me and 50's s**t. Jay and Nas had their thing. You know how much business and things they probaby could have did as men if that little rift or tiff didn't happen? Then you look at Kendrick and Drake, nothing good is coming out of any of these things. What did it ever bring hip hop... that we’re like ‘Yo let’s keep doing this?’”

Ja Rule and 50 Cent have gone back and forth on wax and online for over 20 years. 50 Cent has dissed Ja on songs like "Your Life's on the Line," "Wanksta," "Back Down," and "Hail Mary 2003." The Murder, Inc. artist responded on songs like "Loose Change," "Clapback," and "So Hot." Although it's been a minute since they've dissed each other in their music, the two have managed to keep their beef alive on social media. Recently, Fif took a jab at his old foe after Zohran Mamdani walked out to Ja Rule's "New York" once he became the new Mayor-Elect of New York City.

Elsewhere in their conversation, Kazeem asked Ja if he had any advice for Drake amid his current beef with Kendrick Lamar. Ja laughed at the thought of advising The Boy as he continues to feud with the Grammy Award-winning rapper.

"Drake don't need no advice," Ja said. "Drake is rich. He got a big ass plane.. you seen his plane? What we talking about Drake for? He chilling."
