Juice WRLD’s Posthumous Album 'Legends Never Die' Has Arrived

Juice WRLD’s posthumous album, Legends Never Die, finally landed on Friday (July 10).

The highly-anticipated LP compiles a trove of music Juice recorded before his tragic death in December 2019. As fans know, Juice passed away at the age of 21 years old of an accidental overdose of codeine and oxycodone after suffering a seizure at Midway International Airport in Chicago.

Juice’s 21-track effort opens with an emotionally vulnerable spoken word introduction aptly titled “Anxiety,” on which the musician confides in listeners his struggles with substance abuse, anxiety, and how music became his outlet.

Juice bears even more heavy crosses on confessionals like “Fighting Demons," "Conversations” and “Titanic," as on the latter he references the sinking ship as a metaphor of feeling anchored by feelings of anxiety and regret. Then there are the dark but sentimental songs like “Blood On My Jeans,” which conveys the late musician's bottomless affection for his girlfriend, Ally Lotti, but also finds the rapper with his finger on the trigger to fend off his enemies.

Legends Never Dies also recruits several of music's most prominent stars for a number of powerful collaborations, including rapper Trippie Redd on the perilous ride-or-die record “Tell Me U Luv Me” and Halsey on the hopeful tune “Life’s A Mess.” Hitmaker DJ Marshmello also appears on the EDM banger “Come & Go” whereas The Kid LAROI and Polo G crash the soul-baring track “Hate the Other Side.”
